I-hsing Ware Square Tea Pot with Painted Floral Decor K'ang-hsi period (A.D. 1662-1722) Ch'ing Dynasty Height 11.2cm I-hsing red stoneware emerged as a distinctive type of pottery beginning in the Ming dynasty. In addition to its original red stoneware body , this pot also has a painted floral design which has been fired over the top. This combination of red stoneware and enamel colors is highly unusual.
